(Program Qualification)

Program Qualifications

Graduates of the Department will:
1- have high self-confidence, be active in the academic area and competent in the field, have theoretical and applied knowledge about Russian language, literature, history and culture,
2- have the ability to prepare and present written and visual presentations on Russian language and literature,
3- have the necessary theoretical and applied knowledge to describe the genres of Russian literature with their characteristic features and to explain and analyze the texts representing these genres in the context of their historical, social, cultural, economic and political backgrounds,
4- have the necessary up-to-date theoretical and applied knowledge to be able to make Russian-Turkish and Turkish-Russian translations in different text types,
5- have the ability to analyze literary and cultural texts by applying them within the framework of relevant theories with an interdisciplinary approach,
6- gain the ability to conduct research and academic publications in the fields of literature and linguistics,
7- have the ability to research independently, solve problems and express him-/herself in any environment with the ability to think critically, creatively and analytically,
8- gain the ability to benefit positively from intercultural differences and the ability to compare Turkish and Russian cultures with the acquired sufficient knowledge about Russian culture,
9- collect information and data on issues related to Russian language, literature and culture individually and/or through teamwork and share this information and data in national and international education-teaching environments and other professional environments,
10- have the knowledge of Russian language, literature, history and culture which will enable him/her to work in public and private sectors,
11- organize social, cultural and artistic activities needed in the fields of Russian language, literature, history and culture,
12- develop an attitude unprejudiced, respectful and open to communication and learning towards different language, race, gender, religion and social class groups by adopting basic universal values
