(Mission and Vision)

Our Mission

The aim of our department is to raise bright-minded individuals who are equipped in the field of Turkish Grammar, Turkish Literature and Turkish Culture, have a critical perspective, can establish relationships between different fields of activity and disciplines, and can apply their knowledge to different fields, observe universal ethical values, in addition to the mission of our university, which is contemporary in education and training, produces information and technology, always uses the information and technology it produces for the benefit of society, is sensitive to the environment and the basic values of humanity, and has adopted being a pioneer in its fields of activity.

Our Vision

Erciyes University has adopted the mission of raising individuals with high self-confidence who think science-oriented, question, research, and who can think universally by staying true to the values of the society they belong to. This education makes it possible to contribute to being among the leading universities in our country and in the world, as an exemplary higher education institution with the services it provides to the society and research. By serving this mission of our University as the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, our students gain the ability to conduct research and examination at national and international level during their four-year undergraduate education after one year of preparatory education; It is aimed to enrich their knowledge and equipment in many different interdisciplinary and intercultural fields. The first graduates of our Department, which was established in 1983 within the Faculty of Letters of our university and has been operating since the 1983-1984 academic year, were given in 1987. Since 1993, dual education has been introduced. Our department, which has been active since the day it was opened, has started to be counted among the best departments of our country with its teaching in the fields of Turkish language, literature and culture, both with its teaching staff and its rich program. Our Department, which continues its studies in graduate programs within the Institute of Social Sciences, has carried out many cultural and academic activities in addition to education since its establishment. It aims to continue all these in the coming years.
