Our mission

Besides the mission of our University to produce knowledge and technology, to always use the produced knowledge and technology for the benefit of society, to be sensitive to the environment and basic values of humanity and to desire to be a pioneer in its fields of activity, our Department aims to train intellectual individuals, who are equipped with knowledge of Russian Language, Russian literature and Russian culture, who have a critical point of view, who can create connections between different fields of activity and disciplines and apply the knowledge to different fields, and who take universal ethical values into consideration.Besides the internalized mission of our University to produce knowledge and technology, to always use the produced knowledge and technology for the benefit of society, to be responsive to the environment and basic values of humanity and to desire to be a pioneer in its fields of activity, our Department aims to educate students as bright-minded individuals equipped with knowledge of Russian Language, Russian literature and Russian culture, who owe a critical point of view, can create interdisciplinary connections between different fields of activity, apply the knowledge to different fields and observe universal ethical values.

Our vision

Erciyes University has adopted the mission of educating self-confident individuals who think science-oriented, question, research and think universally by remaining loyal to the values of the society they belong to. This education makes it possible to contribute to being among the leading universities in our country and in the world as an exemplary higher education institution with the services it provides for the society and research. By serving this mission of our University, the Department of Russian Language and Literature aims to enable the students to gain the ability to conduct research and examination at national and international level during their four-year undergraduate education after one year of preparatory education. In addition, it also aims to enrich their knowledge and equipment in many different interdisciplinary and intercultural fields. Our Department, which has been actively carrying out educational activities in the Faculty of Letters since the 1994-1995 Academic Year, has started to be counted among the best departments of our country with its teaching staff and richness of its programs in the fields of Russian language, literature and culture. It also fulfills its mission of raising students integrated with universal values by sending approximately 20 students by means of foreign exchange programs such as Erasmus and Mevlana every year and providing them with the opportunity to study abroad. In recent years, especially with bilateral cooperation agreements with universities in Russia, both the University and our Department have become more well-known through exchange programs, and their primary goals are to further develop these co-operations. Our department, which continues its studies in graduate programs within the Institute of Social Sciences, has been involved in many cultural and academic activities in addition to education since the day it was founded.
