Program Qualifications
The graduates of the Department will:
1. have the necessary theoretical and conceptual knowledge about the field of sociology,
2. be able to use the knowledge acquired in the field of sociology to understand and explain the social structure, the functioning of institutions and processes, and social action,
3. be able to make sociological analyzes by using the basic theoretical approaches and concepts related to the field of sociology,
4. be able to use the knowledge gained in the field of sociology to understand social reality and solve social problems,
5. develop a positive attitude towards lifelong learning with the basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field of sociology,
6. be able to design a project proposal on his/her own with the knowledge and skills he/she has acquired at the undergraduate level and have the ability to write it as from the observation phase of a social research related to the field of sociology,
7. develop critical and analytical thinking approach with the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of sociology,
8. follow local and global developments in the field of sociology and make predictions about them.
9. develop a positive attitude towards social responsibility, which is both a professional and a citizenship requirement, by providing knowledge on ethical problems related to research processes in the field of sociology,
10. be able to apply research methods and techniques in sociology to social processes with an interdisciplinary perspective.
