General Information

To graduate from our program, 240 credits of courses must be completed. Some of these credits are successfully earned from required courses and some electives.
Courses in our department's undergraduate curriculum are offered on a semester basis. There are two semesters each academic year, fall and spring. A semester usually proceeds as follows: Course registration + 14-week course period + end-of-year examination period. The dates are specified in the Academic Calendar.
Absences:
Students must attend 70% of the courses. At the end of the semester, absent students are reported to the Dean's Office and marked absent in the system. Students who are absent will forfeit the right to take the end-of-year exams. On OBISIS, your attendance status for each course is displayed as follows: G (attendance required), D (absent - absent), and M (excluded from attendance).
Classes:
Courses are required and elective courses. Required courses are those courses that the student must take in order to graduate.
Elective courses are offered in specific packages. The student will graduate with the credits indicated in the elective package for the specific year and semester of the educational plan. Package credits must be completed, not the course taken in the package.
Course Registration:
Each semester, students select the courses they need to take within the time period indicated on the academic calendar through OBISIS and send them to their advisors for approval. The OBISIS program shows required courses in blue, successful courses in green, and failed courses in red. The student selects the courses to be taken in each academic year based on specific areas of emphasis. Priority is given to the selection of remaining courses or lower division courses. The student enrolled in the courses in his/her semester may choose an upper division course if necessary. In this regard, the advisors' warnings and instructions should be heeded. Electives offered during the semester will be announced to students by advisors during the course registration period. Among these courses, students select courses according to their interests and needs. Among the remaining electives, there may be those that will not open during the following year's lecture registration week. In this case, the system will show you the table of courses that can be taken instead. It is important to take lessons from the appropriate package and year instead of the lesson in this table. If you are unsure, do not hesitate to ask your advisor. Remember that your advisors may send you messages during course registration and add-drop weeks, there may be errors in your course registration, or changes may be required, and check the appropriate messages periodically. Note that changes may still be required after your course registrations have been approved.

Who is the advisor?

Your advisors are the people who guide you in your educational life. It guides you through the courses you have taken during the course registration period. Serves as your point of contact for problems outside of course registration. Provides communication between the department chair and the student.

Office Hours (Advising)

Each of the faculty members working in our department sets up office hours for students on a specific day of the week and at a specific time. These hours can be used to solicit opinions on any topic or to communicate your problems, as opposed to advising. Office hours are posted on the office doors in the programs or syllabi. Do not hesitate to email questions if needed.

Exams

Examinations are indispensable elements of course evaluation. The usual form is the midterm exam (midterm) and the end-of-year exam (final). However, in some courses, course evaluation may be conducted using various methods such as homework, projects, presentations. You will be notified at the beginning of the semester how this will be evaluated. Your participation in the course is important. Pay particular attention to how the course evaluation is done for courses that you did not pass in previous semesters and were not required to attend. Remember that it is your responsibility to be aware of the requirements. The date of the semester exams will be set and announced by the faculty administration. Although the 8th and 9th weeks are normally reserved for exams, this situation may change due to special circumstances and holidays this year. During exam week, classes may be interrupted or classes and exams may be held together.

Adaptation

In order to receive credit for courses you have successfully completed in your previous education, you must open an Adjustment Record. As a workflow, you must apply to the Registrar's Office and register with a document or documents showing your grade level and grading scale. You must then enter the courses you wish to be exempt from through OBISIS and submit them for approval. The course content and grade documents must be submitted to the Adjustment Commission members on file in the system. After the commission has convened and made a decision, you can access the adjustment report on OBISIS.

Summer School

At the end of the spring semester, departments decide whether courses will open in Summer School or which courses will, and these decisions are announced in the appropriate places. Students who wish to take the course may be asked to pre-register. Depending on the number of applications, a decision will be made and announced as to whether or not the course will be opened. To take courses from other colleges, the list of colleges approved by your department will first be reviewed. A transcript will be prepared by your department indicating which courses are to be taken at approved universities and which course corresponds to the course to be taken in your department. This document is required to ensure your adjustment if you are successful in your studies at the other university. If you are successful in the courses you take, you will need to come to our college and begin the adjustment process.

Discipline

In the event of a finding of negative conduct as defined in the disciplinary regulations, a disciplinary investigation will be initiated in accordance with the provisions of the appropriate regulation.
