Graduates of the Department will:
1. develop Korean reading-writing and listening-speaking skills at a basic and/or advanced level and gain the Korean language proficiency to express themselves effectively in written and oral forms at national and international platforms,
2. learn different genres of Korean Literature and the historical, cultural and social context of these works,
3. learn the structure, features and development of the Korean language and gain competence in grammar, phonology, syntax, semantics, stylistics, rhetoric and corpus linguistics,
4. have knowledge and competence to translate texts from different fields from Korean to Turkish, from Turkish to Korean at all levels,
5. learn the latest information and technologies related to the field and have the knowledge, skills and competence to perform their professions in the field of Korean in Türkiye and in different countries of the world,
6. have sufficient knowledge and experience in the fields such as linguistics, foreign language teaching, literary criticism and text translation and gain the competence to use theoretical and applied knowledge gained in related fields,
7. define the problems encountered in the fields related to the profession and develop solutions to meet the expectations in this regard and gain the ability to cooperate with relevant institutions and develop solutions for the solution of the problems encountered,
8. gain interdisciplinary knowledge and perspective and gain the competence to use their interdisciplinary knowledge and experience,
9. develop critical and analytical thinking skills and use theoretical knowledge and critical experience effectively,
10. work individually and in groups in coordination and gain the ability to develop and implement projects, innovative studies related to their profession,
11. gain knowledge and understanding on environment, race, gender, religion and economic issues in literary culture and develop awareness that can contribute to the society in terms of knowledge, experience and thought on these issues.
